Not so good. Reserved a table and had about 10 friends celebrating the holiday with appetizers and cocktails on Thursday Dec 21. The service was horrible. Really? 35 minutes for cocktails. The server was working hard and she was very polite. Hello management. You were severely understaffed right before Xmas. The food.... Not so good either. The Shepard pie was yucky. Tried two bites and couldn't eat it. Yup. Will never go back. Thumbs down.

Great service, huge selection of draft beer, very good food, great live music on a Friday night..

Fairly decent, was very quiet when I was there. They don't serve non-alcoholic drinks in regular mixed drink glasses, so my mixed non-alcoholic drinks were very watered down. If you plan to play darts, you should bring your own because they only have 2 darts for two boards. Otherwise, good service and good eats.

Drinks were good and strong. Steak tips were chewy and under cooked. Service was good.

The wings were good standard bar fare. The Jambalaya had linguini instead of rice, which I was open to but the sauce though flavorful was too thin to stick to the noodles. A bit pricy.

There's a new CHEF at Waxy's!!! Awesome food! Awesome service! New menu will soon be available! More Irish items and more conventional items!

Bad service food is never on time bartenders are rude

This place is really terrible. I've been enough times to know. Bar tenders are slow and unattentive. The table service is very slow and not very personable. Prices are generally high too unless you come for happy hour.What really made me write this review was the pathetic excuse for nachos they delivered to my friend and I. A plate of chips with one handful of cheese (90% of chips were not covered in any cheese), pico, and sour cream does not cut it. The chili addition looked like canned chili. Additionally the uncovered chips were visibly burnt. The kicker is that the plate was $15.00.I will never be buying food or beer at this place again because of this experience and past underwhelming experiences.

Food was good. Clam chowder excellent, fish n chips excellent, Shepard's pie was meh, which is disappointing for an "Irish" pub (beef not lamb). At least they use corned beef on the Reuben.Service was well below average. No personality whatsoever, seemed disinterested.Good beer selection.Might go back but won't go out of my way to come here.

Love the atmosphere of this place. Beautiful bar setup and my Pub Burger was totally made in heaven.

Have tried a few dishes and all were very good. Staff hard working, efficient and courteous.

It took all of 5 min to be acknowledged that I was waiting to be seated. (By myself) then ounce seated, waited for my order to be taken, waited over an HOUR for my grilled chicken sandwich with no bun and fries! They weren't slammed. Empty tables available... then had to wait for the check to come and for it to be picked up....2 hours!! For a bunless grilled chicken. To top it off, they brought out the ketchup in packets!? I have a 30 room block with the hotel it's attached to. I'm going to have to warn them. :(

Decent food but NINE DOLLARS FOR A BEER! There is no justification for that. Almost $30 for decent burger and one 16oz beer. Never going back. Beer selection is 90% IPA too which sucks.

My experience here was not great. We waited an hour and a half to get our food. And when we finally got our food my chicken sandwich was dry. We waited like 30 mins to get our drinks. Every time our waitress would come by she would take our drink order and then disappear for like an hour. Not a good experience her.

We had a lovely meal here served by Stacey who was really good . I am on vacation from England and hope to come back again some time

Nice enough place! Food was good and service was better. Music was very loud but it was summer and outside seating was available. No complaints!!

I can’t say enough great things about this fine establishment! We booked Waxy O’Connor’s Dublin Room for our baby shower several months ago. Rick the manager and I kept in touch ensuring our needs were met. The staff from Stacey the bartender to Eddy the waiter to Mike the Chef, everyone who attended could not say enough great things about this place! Every single person involves catered to our every request! Food was amazing! Service was impeccable! I want to host another event here but will have to wait.Thank you!

Food is okay, but service is slow and inaccurate. Our server also upcharged us for sweet potato fries when they were out of regular fries. Sneaky sneaky.

This place is horrible. Bad food and horrible service. Don’t waste your time and money. You would get a better meal at the McDonald’s down the street.

Service was standard. Ambiance and cleanliness was above average. Pleasant atmosphere although lighting was a tad too dark. I was mostly disappointed with the bar selection because, for an Irish pub, it sadly lacked selection, offering only Guinness, Smithwicks and Harps. The food was also a huge disappointment. It lacked any flavor and was poorly representative of traditional Irish Cuisine. A little salt and rosemary can go a long way. The price for the meal was also greater than the quality of the meal.

The atmosphere is really nice. The food is proportioned appropriately for the pricing. The taste was alright. It wasn't super spectacular but it was bad by any means. I'll definitely go back and eat there again.

I wrote a review for this place already a year or so ago but it might have disappeared. I just have to reiterate that this is the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Slow does not describe it. The place was dead and we could not manage to get ANY food or drinks. Laughably bad service. Was told the cook wasn't in yet at like 2pm. The water tasted dirty and was cloudy. Literally gave up after a half hour even trying to order anything. Unless they have completely re done this place, new ownership etc, do not come here.

Tough experience with our waitress. Food was okay. Wash burger is a must if you can get them to cook it the way you want. They dojt seem to understand medium well. Great atmosphere though.

A great spot to unwind after getting back to the hotel attached. Sean the bartender is very friendly and has great beer recommendations. If you are dining in, many of the appetizers are great such as the loaded tots and pretzel. The waxy burger was also very tasty but might be a heavy option if you couple it with a beer or app.

I've never dealt with a more unprofessional, discourteous individual than Reggie - the general manager. I am a member of a local band with a great following and have called several times, left messages and even spoken to Reggie about booking a gig with them. Each time, he says, he'll get back to me (which he never has) or, even worse, has told me to 'hang on a second' and left me waiting on the phone for well over 15 minutes and I have to hang up (which he just did to me 30 minutes ago). What kind of General Manager does this stuff? If you're the manager THEN MANAGE! Don't ignore people. If you're booked up or don't want our band, that's perfectly fine. I get it - but, just say so. Stop wasting my time. No wonder this place gets such poor reviews. It's very poorly managed and it starts at the top.

Worst service ever! Empty tables all over the place and the hostess told us it would be about 25 minutes... She called our cell phone, we answered, she hung up... Walked up to her to ask if she just called and I stood there 5 minutes while she had a conversation, not one glance my way, me standing 3 feet away... I was never rude or impatient at any point, so I dont understand being ignored... She finally acknowledged me and sat us at a table that had been open the whole time 35 minutes after arriving... We then sat there at our table for 1 hour and 20 minutes with not one employee glancing our way... Again, not once being rude... We finally left, amazing! I don't understand how a place like this with a load of employees that don't give a damn about customers can make any kind of profit or stay in business at all... The only thing I could come up with is that the place is just a front for money laundering... Doesn't deserve 1 star, don't go, horrible place!!

Nice and clean plus good food equal happy customer!

This restaurant is a horrible place. I was there with my family. We waited at least 15 minutes before we got sodas. Sodas. I think somebody ordered a beer. But nobody asked for a freaking Manhattan. Then after waiting for about 30 minutes for our waitress to come by and take appetizer orders, we waited about 25 minutes and the appetizers did not come out. We put in entree orders because why not. The waitress explained that there are a lot of people at the bar. Therefore, our food would not come out... even though our waitress is not the bartender. Was the cook tending bar? At around the 1 hour mark, we didn’t have our appetizers, so we asked to talk to the manager and were told they were preparing for a band. At this point we decided to leave. We went to a Friendly’s instead and it was lovely. For god’s sake don’t eat at Waxy’s it’s a horrible place. The people running it are the people who elected Trump. And they killed Jesus.

Just had a really good Irish coffee here. Best I have had in a long time. Great burger also. Super nice help also.

Service was really good. Hostess was very friendly. Nashville Chicken wasn't good but the server gladly took it off the bill and replaced it at no cost.

Absolutely awesome wings! Super fresh, fall off the bone, smack your mama good! Some tap problems (few different beers tasted 'off' throughout meal). Maybe stick to bottles till they get that worked out? Burgers got high rating from the kids. Steel tip darts and pool in the back. Great classic all wood pub. Outside sidewalk style patio. Don't let the location or ho hum exterior fool you. This is a local go to place just waiting for the word of mouth to pack the place over time. For those lucky enough to discover it early, you'll enjoy the find. Speaking as a proud Irish American who's lived in Boston and tossed back Guinness at the Dublin brewery, this pub has chops! Make it your random retreat from a busy day when a drink and some great food are all you need to hit reset.

The last time I visited, I ate outside and the service was extremely slow. After 15 minutes I went inside and found out the hostess never informed our waiter that we were there. Bar patrons kept smoking right next to our table. The menu had recently changed and we were not able to get our food made the way it was on the previous menu. Veggie burger was very dry but my salad was excellent. Staff is very pleasant.

UPDATE: I came across an article that the Waxy chain was being revamped and renamed, including menu items. Because of this I was willing to give it another shot. The menu was different and there were a bunch of things I would try. The food was better than my previous visit. We got takeout so I can't speak to the service.The food is serviceable but there are definitely better places around and in adjacent towns. Service here is probably one of the worst things about Waxy's. Funny thing is, when they first opened The service was spectacular, which is usually not that case for a new restaurant.

Good service food is good, never had a bad meal at waxy's....bartenders are great.

Was an alright experience. Sat at the bar one Saturday night, got service quickly and with a smile. Great atmosphere, great staff.The music was just a tad too loud. Can't have proper conversation over it

I would rate this place a zero, but that is not an option. The bartender presently on duty - Saturday, April 13, 2019 in the afternoon - has neither the job knowledge nor the personality required for this type of work. She has also been constantly hacking while making drinks - pretty damn gross in my opinion - and takes a year and a day to ask people if they are ready to order. She needs to not give up her day job. (Oops! This might be her day job! Ugh!)The sign out front by the road indicates that there is acoustic entertainment and happy hour from 3 to 6. Upon calling to double check on the happy hour, we were told by a rather dull and lethargic voice that there is no happy hour today. Our advice: Go somewhere else.

I honestly don’t want to give even one star to this place. Don’t go. Especially if Diamond is working. The service was horrible and when we mentioned the fact that we were never checked on for drink refills or how our food was, she gave nasty attitude about have 6 tables. Six! Any decent waitress can handle 6 tables on a slow Sunday afternoon, especially when we went to find her and she was chillin’ in the kitchen. Nothing comped for the horrible service either. I am very reasonable and never complain about service but had to here.
